                             ORDINANCE NO.   10491 
        
        
                   AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 6958, AS
                   AMENDED, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE, SO AS
                   TO AMEND ARTICLE V, SECTION 401(16) AND ARTICLE
                   VIII, SECTION 107(6), RELATIVE TO FUNERAL HOMES
                   IN THE R-4 SPECIAL ZONE.

              	   BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
         CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That Ordinance No. 6958, as amended, 
the
         Zoning Ordinance, be and the same is hereby amended as follows:
        
         	   SECTION 1.	  That Article V, Section 401(16) be
         amended to delete Section 401(16) in its entirety and 
substitute
         the following in lieu thereof:
        
                 (16) Funeral homes, mortuaries, and undertaking
                      establishments (excluding crematoriums), except 
that
                      such uses shall require a Special Permit under the 

                      terms of Article VIII.
                
         	   SECTION 2.	  That Article VIII, Section 107(6) be
         amended to delete Section 107(6) in its entirety and substitute 

         the following in lieu thereof:
                 (6) For funeral homes, mortuaries and undertaking
                     establishments in the R-4 Special Zone.
        
              	   SECTION 3.	  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this
         Ordinance shall take effect two weeks from and after its 
passage
         as required by law.
